GE Healthcare

Hands-on-Demonstration Western Blotting

Amersham Hybond-P

Hydrophobic polyvinylidene difluoride (PVDF) membrane optimized for use in protein transfers and/or Western blotting applications.

Higher mechanical strength than unsupported nitrocellulose with a protein binding capacity of 125 µg/cm2.

Chemically stable allowing the use of a range of solvents for rapid destaining.

Higher physical strength of Hybond-P gives it significant handling advantages over unsupported nitrocellulose and makes it highly suitable for stripping and reprobing.

Hybond-P must be wetted in 100% methanol then soaked in distilled water before use.
