Nutrition and Biotechnology
Opatija - Nutrition-related biotechnology has been subject to many controverse public debates lately. The organizers of the “2nd Central European Meeting - 5th Croatian Congress of Food Technologists, Biotechnologists und Nutritionists” - taking place from October 17 to 20, 2004 in Opatija - have invited professionals from academia, food industry, and research institutes as well as representatives from the government and consumer's organisations to take an active part in the congress. The objective is to provide a multidisciplinary forum in the fields of food science and technology, human nutrition and biotechnological applications in food production. Topics will range from aspects of food engineering and safety to consumers' perceptions and the role of microbiology in food production and waste water treatment.
