Biogen Idec funds Biocant

Cantanhede – Biogen Idec (Cambridge, US) and the Portuguese biopark Biocant in the Coimbra region have signed a socalled ‘Sponsored Research Agreement’ worth an undisclosed amount. Under the terms of the agreement, researchers from Biocant, the Center for Neurosciences and Cell Bio­logy, and Coimbra University Hospital will screen for molecular markers that open up a better characterisation and dia­gnosis of multiple sclerosis in humans. The screening will be carried out primarily at the biopark.
