English Biotechnology Programme
Krakow - The Faculty of Biotechnology of the Jagiellonian University in Krakow will start an English Programme in Biotechnology studies, beginning in the forthcoming academic year 2004/2005. The programme aims to attract excellent biotechnology students from all over the world and will offer a four year bachelor (BSc) programme with an option to obtain a master's degree (MSc) in one additional year as well as individually tailored student support. The qualification criteria include the results of SAT exams (scholastic aptitude test) or equivalents for non-US citizens. The maximum number of students admitted in the first year will be 24. The annual tuition fee amounts to $4.700. The biotechnology studies for Polish students rank among the best in Poland. This correlates with the high number of candidates each year for these studies - in the year 2003/2004 some 800 candidates competed for 60 places.
