Genome initiative supports start-ups
Amsterdam – In order to enhance the valorisation of academic results, the Netherlands Genomics Initiative (NGI) is now supporting the foundation of new companies. Teams of researchers and entrepreneurs from all of the NGI’s Genomics Centers are being called on to draw up business plans that include a financial plan for exploiting business opportunities. The teams are supported by experienced business coaches, and will have to pitch in front of a jury at the end of the competition. This ‘Venture Challenge’ is part of a wider NGI initiative to support the entire valorisation chain from research to econimic results. Activities include the establishment of an advisory board, a pre-seed fund and an NGI Valorisation Award.
