Sanitas revenues increase
Kaunas – Sanitas AB group net profits have risen by almost seven times (598%) to a6.2 million in the first quarter of 2007 compared to last year, the Lithuanian pharmaceutical manufacturer reported at the end of May. Turnover increased from a16.2 million to almost a78.6 million in the same period. Poland providing the largest market with sales of approximately a43.9 million due to the acquisition of Polish Jelfa SA in April 2006. Sales in Russia were also significant (a9.6 million). In Latvia (+55%) and in the Slovak Republic (+31%), turnover was expanded significantly compared to the same period last year. Sanitas group exports grew by 55%, whereas domestic sales fell by 7% in 2007. At the same time, the expenses of the company increased by 386% compared to 2006.
