Grindeks opens laboratory
Riga – In mid June, LSC Grindeks unveiled a new a4.5 million cGMP and GLP compliant laboratory for scale-up procedures and industrial analytics – the only lab of this kind in the Baltic States, says the company. “The development of the laboratory will significantly increase Grindek’s competitiveness in the European and US markets,” said Janis Romanovskis, Chairman of Grindeks’s Board during the inauguration ceremonies with Latvia’s Prime Minister, Aigars Kalvatis. In the lab, Grindeks can scale up the production of pharmaceutical ingredients to the 160-litre scale.
About a2 million of the investment into the new facility came from the European Union for the creation of new synthesis process in the scaling laboratory. Grindeks will offer contract manufacturing of substances for clinical trials for national and international companies. The investment will pay off in five years time, according to the company’s estimates.
