Evolutec quits rEV131 development

Reading – Evolutec has terminated the developement of its drug candidate, rEV131, in allergic rhinitis after a Phase IIb study with 300 patients failed to achieve the primary and secondary endpoints. In January, the drug also failed to reach the endpoint in a 150 patient trial with the drug candidate for treating inflammation after cataract surgery. Evolutec’s CEO Mark C. Brown announced in January that “no more investment will be made by Evolutec in rEV131”.
