PharmtechexpoMakes Debut

05.03.2004

Budapest - The inaugural Pharmtech-expo - a combined exhibition and congress designed as a one-stop-shop event from February 11 to 13 in Budapest - concentrated on the pharmaceutical manufacturing process. The organizer Marcus Evans Congresses counted 470 visitors - 65% were Hungarians - from 27 countries and 120 delegates at the event with 60 exhibitors and numerous presentations. Special attention was given to cutting costs and improving manufacturing processes to accelerate time-to-market. From 2000 to 2005, the pharma-ceutical market in Central and Eastern Europe is expected to grow by over 13% p.a. (IMS Health). But on the eve of joining the EU, the candidate countries face complex demands and time pressure to harmonize national with EU market authorization and IP regulations ”to stay on the market with our products”, said Mária Kenéz from Egis Pharmaceuticals Ltd., Budapest.
