20 million Euros to fight bioterrorism

Evolva Biotech SA, a biotech company with headquarter in Switzerland and development in Denmark, has received a Euro 20million award from the United States Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) for the development of treatments against potential biowarfare or bioterrorism agents. In collaboration with the Swedish vaccine specialist Isconova AB the money will be used over a five years period to develop new compounds that improve the ability of humans to resist diverse pathogens. Evolva’s work is based on large combinatorial gene libraries that drives chemistry rich pathways to evolve small molecules.
